Volunteers Needed for Kizuna 5!

Kizuna5 Team Seeks Volunteers

The Osaka Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International is presenting Kizuna 5, a series of events to remember the victims, celebrate the reconstruction of the Tohoku region and show continued support from the people of Chicago to those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami of 2011. The Kizuna5 series will consist of the following events:

  1. Commemoration Ceremony at Chicago Cultural Center on Sunday, March 6 at 2:00pm
  2. Photo Exhibition Featuring Tohoku Youth March 7–11, 2016 – James R. Thompson Center March 14–April 1, 2016 – Richard J. Daley Center Lobby
  1. Economic Seminar Highlighting Business in Tohoku on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Grant Thornton, 171 N. Clark St. #200, Chicago
  2. Panel Discussion on Natural Disasters and Global Partnership, tentatively scheduled for Monday, March 14 at Japan Information Center, 737 N. Michigan Ave #1000, Chicago
  3. Film Screening of the 113 Project, a short documentary on Tohoku youth

Dates & Locations: TBD

The Kizuna5 team from the Osaka Committee of the CSCI is currently seeking more volunteers who could help us with the following:

  1. To work on a website and video production
  2. To insert captions to video messages. Adobe premiere (video editing software) user may be ideal
  3. To assist in administrative works
  4. To assist at the Commemoration Ceremony

If you are interested in working with the Kizuna5 team, please contact the volunteer administrator. We’ll welcome anybody who is interested in working with us on this important project.

Kizuna 5 is co-hosted by the Consulate-General of Japan in Chicago, the Japan America Society of Chicago, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Chicago, and the Japan External Trade Organization Chicago Office. Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner and City of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel serve as honorary of chairs of Kizuna 5.
